my boss had this old vaio at work today. the thing was super thin and had an external cd-rom right. pretty much what i'm looking for is something like that but in a 17 inch version. or at least 15 inch. its more important that the laptop is thin and sleek and i'm able to take it around with me than it is to have a cd-rom or even a disk drive built into it. where can i find a laptop like this?
 
So you want a thin and light 15 or 17" notebook? I think the closest you're going to get is a powerbook...although personally, even the 12" is too heavy for my tastes.
