That was a good read. No real surprises there. Lots of stuff the really rich folks use to make money don't really matter in the large scheme of things. I don't fault them. It's what they do and the work they enjoy pays big $$$. not really much we can do about it anyway.
I am However not in the wrong line of work.
I've always been envious of people who can create "things". I had friends who could paint or draw cartoons, i had friends that were fantastic with metal and wood, making chairs, boats etc. I was always so envious of them. I was always the one who never really had any creative talent.
IT gave me a way to create something. Be it a network, a piece of software or a cluster of some sort

. It might not be as awesome or as tangible as what my friends create, but it gives me a feeling of satisfaction.
It doesn't pay as big as wall street, but it doesn't pay all that bad either
