Will probably just be walking, minimal jogging. Definitely want a powered one, and the info of distance walked on digital readout is wanted, etc. Looking for one small enough to collapse and hide under a twin-bed as well.

If anybody has any good resources, or is familiar themselves, has done their own research, and could share some info, I'd appreciate it. Thanks =)

In a sense hes right. Running or walking would be a better alternative to a treadmill. Its like running on a sidewalk. If you do get one I would get one with a flexible bottom. If you go to the treadmill shops youll see what im talking about.
Walking on concrete isnt so bad but running will kill your joints. The track is the best place to run because of the soft rubber surface but just make sure if you do choose a treadmill it has the flexible bottom.

You should get one that's big enough for a 747, so we can solve that stupid question once and for all.

I just bought my wife a new one and it beats walking outside all to hell, its flexible and is very comfortable....much better than a track....plus if the weather is crappy you can still walk on it:) here is a link to my wife's treadmill buying guide on our website... http://www.freewebs.com/mistyblu/treadmillbuyingguide.htm we researched this for over a year before buying, and we feel we got the best value for our dollar....we ended up with the Vision 9200 with the deluxe console, but no ortho belt, they cause too much wear and tear on the treadmill deck and motor...I spent about 1500.00

Buy a used one.

Treadmills are one of the many pieces of $1000-$2000 exercise equipment that get used approximately 12 times before never being touched again. Then they show up for sale in the paper/craigslist for $700, then $500, then $300, then they end up on someone's curb waiting for the trash.

I imagine you can pick up a pretty nice mint condition used one for $500. My parents have one in fact that they would be happy to part with for probably $250 if you promised they never had to see it again. (used twice by previous owner, once by my parents)

well its her page, not mine:) I think its cute, but all you have to do is move the cursor to the bottom of the page, as far as used ones go, thats not something we suggest unless you can personally inspect it to make sure it was not mistreated and that everything works, not only that, usually they are a few years old and wont have the latest features and technology, and there is NO warranty in case something breaks. Ours has a lifetime warranty on the frame and motor.... BTW, we also have a weider home gym and the total gym 3000...so we are pretty much covered... hehehe, she removed the cursor attack feature:)

1st thing you should look for is a used one. Most people want one - walk on it for a week, and in the garage it goes. You should be able to get a FINE one for minimal cash compared to new.
