Tomorrow, we are heading to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

This country is amazing. People are beautiful, friendly, and warm. Medicine requires no prescription (and you better believe we've been enjoying that - hydrocodone, methylphenidate, etc), and the coutnry is simply beautiful. a perfect hybrid between a lowered value of money, yet the amenties avilable to the west. I love this place. I got a 2 hour massage for us $15 dollars. Beautiful, wonderful!

watch out, a lot of the "beautiful women" don't seem too beautiful anymore once you get in bed with them, if ya know what I mean 😉
 
Where are you in Thailand?

The people are nice, but Bangkok is dirty city. Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) city is dirtier than Bangkok, and the people aren't as friendly as the Thais.

I like the Northeast (Khorat Plateau) most in Thailand. It is less traveled by tourists and there are lots of wonderful sights (though Bangkok is pretty awesome for the nightlife and shopping etc).

Thailand rocks as a place to visit; Vietnam, Cambodia (Angkor Wat OMG!!) too.

$15? You got ripped off.

You think Thailand might be cheap but wait a couple more years. It's the Westerners that think everything is cheap that is bringing up the cost of things. I went to Thailand 2 years ago and I could not bargain and I ended up paying $10 for my 2-hour massage. China has yet been infested by foreigners so I as able to bargain there.

In late 80s & in mid 90s. Bangkok could be cleaner now, but I haven't heard of any cleaning up program. The smog there is horrendous, the 2 times that I was there it took me a few days of blowing my nose out before it is not black with soot (Saigon & Mexico city is worse). Bangkok is relatively clean if you compare to city such as LA or San Diego, but for me it is dirty because I live in Victoria BC.

its all relative... part of Bangkok IS dirtier than let's say your average metropolitan US Cities.
But it is not like wild pigs and naked children roaming the streets in Bangkok.



anyway, DigDug, did you go shopping?

clubs in Thailand are VERY VERY nice too to my surprise. and affordable by American standard. (cocktail Drinks range from 3 to 5 bucks, to normal Thai ppl, that is like a day's wage.)
 
You can head to the Ben Thanh Market in HCM and also the Saigon Water Park. Don't get hit the cars while crossing the street to get to the bus stop! 🙂
