In rural areas yes, But Where I live, People like you are considered Poor

You have no clue what anyone in this forum is worth.

I don't know why you people equate equate being an Ameican with money. America is great beyond monetary means, so do us a favor and don't come home.

If you feel this way, why are you clicking a thread title with China in it? Do you like thread crapping & saying how much superior you are? Must make you feel real good. ;)

What the heck is gundam? Why do you use the quaint, old-fashioned term "dame" OP? Why did I come into this thread? Why didn't I leave immediately?

Most importantly, what happened to the cookie emoticon?

I did not say that I was better than any one living Human Being. I did say America is greater than China because we say what we want, believe what we like, and do as we with because our government will protect us for doing so. In contrast China will kill or arrest you for speaking your mind, believing in certain things, or protesting against the Chinese government.

A lot of it is propaganda. China isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. Before you couldn't speak your mind on anything but now you can on certain things, it gets more lenient every year.

Right...

The US education system sure has taken you and stuffed your brain with utter nonsense. When was the last time you've seen a US magazine/newspaper which talked about the government in a hugely negative way? The answer is none because the US doesn't value free speech anywhere near as close to the amount it preaches. If you want to talk about censorship, I have a list of books which the US has censored before allowing publishers to publish them. What happened to free speech if a writer can't freely write about anything they want?

Oh sure, you need to "protect" the interests of the government but if you have to "protect" the government then way does the government proclaim free speech when you clearly don't have it?

Yo man, Plz. U have the right to feel good about urself and bash others. Do as you like. But Note, From what I've seen here with Education and "HUGEEEE amount of People" China Will Crush All competition.

Think about it this way. Natural Selection alone, We've simply have the advantage being able to select from SOO many.

Worst part for the rest of the world, Most of the Citizens here are still Damn** Racist.

Only Half the people here gets to go to college But, the requirements make it so rediculous, Basically a "Science" oriented school requirement of entry, is having done most of the Softmore/Junior College courses Here in theh US.

Also, The Competition Here is drastic and very brutal IMO, you don't study, u don't eat, you're uber lucky if u live to 60 because , forget about freebie life medicals.

GUNDAM is "GIANT + ROBOT + AWESOME + BEAM SABER + RIFLE + NUCLEAR + ARMOR + CANNON + SPACE SHIP + PLASMA SHIELD + BOOSTER FUEL + Basically everything Cool in video games, Rolled into one thing..

I fail to see the point of this thread. ... but i did just come back from China (Shanghai, Beijing, HK) 3 weeks ago.

Let me tell you this....

Having family and friends with connections go a long way in china.... you have absolutely no idea....

For example: 6-star hotel (Shangri-la), 23rd floor, gotta be at least 2,000 USD/night..... we were pleasantly surprised when we got "upgraded" from our regular room that we only paid 150 USD because of a very very sweet lady my mother knows. Also, my mother was a semi-frequent customer since she had to take guests there for work sometimes so that helped with the upgrade too. You have not experienced excess and the income gap until you have stayed in this type of room for a few nights in China. The staff at front desk and at the lounge all know your name and refer to you as madam or sir.

Hotels like these are the only places in China where there are more white people than Chinese.... a lot more.

Funny thing happened on the day we checked out. All the foreigners were in the lobby looking like lost animals because they got kicked out of their rooms and were being moved to the next tower (the Hotel is actually 2 skyscrapers) because Premier Wen Jiabao was staying at the hotel for a conference in Shanghai.

Erub - I had a blast in HK. I've been there a lot, so I know places I like. Shenzhen hasn't impressed me yet.

WTF,, n00ber, Gundam merchandises are not toys, They are to be considered works of art from planning to mold construction, to print, to completion.

THEY"RE MODELS, not TOYS.

G-damn why can't u all see that. LOLOLZZZZ

I agree that connections go a long way,, But i'd say Connections in china is the ONLY way. No matter how great a student you are, if your family is crude, U'll end up crude.

An example that people pik at here is the Graduate of Qing Hua University working after graduation as a butcher selling pork on the streets.

Qing Hua is like, "clears throat" ,, errm, "You people at harvard would NOT get in, Assuming fair competition of course, as in Your grandmother did not sleep with the Dean 40 years ago."

Clearly, the difference is how the government treats people. The Chinese government is still bent on that whole communism thing, and will not let go.

The American government is bent on a type of democracy that more than half it's populace can not figure out. (Actually, it is more like 3/4)

I fail to see the difference myself, but I guess I am an idiot as far as this is concerned.

inveterate - Thailand is by far my favourite place to go to in Asia. Nicest people. I guess it helped that I made a few Thai friends while I was out here so when I've been there I've had a native guide. But I've been there with my family for vacations as well and they all loved the place as well. I could easily see myself living in Bangkok, but the pollution is fairly bad there.

So far I've enjoyed visiting Shanghai and I'm not too fond of Shenzhen so far.

I think a while back I saw a pdf document that contains shape of paper you cut out and glue together one sheet at a time to create a giant gundam. Probably cost more than a model :)

http://www.engadget.com/2007/0...iwan-lantern-festival/

that got a chuckle out of me...
