I'm in business and I want laptop internet connectivity, what are my options?

I want to be able to sit in my truck and do my online work. Scheduling, checking lot sizes, looking up google map pictures of yards etc. Right now I basically have take a message and call them back when I'm at home and sitting in front of my desktop.

Not sure if I want a laptop or tablet but I know it's not as easy taking my laptop with me and I don't want to do any of this on my blackberry because smart phones are crap and I don't type with my thumbs.

Random hotspots seems iffy... useless.

You either need a 3G/LTE tablet or a mobile internet stick. Depending on who you have your phone with, you can set up a data plan that works with both devices.

Would the internet signal be really strong like at home or would it lag like crazy like my blackberry? I mean my blackberry torch and the one I had before are so slow they are useless imo. I don't really know if it's the signal or the blackberry itself.

I know that my laptop that get wifi at home is very fast, as fast as my desktop i think.

btw, this 3G/LTE tablet are they basically any tablet like the nexus 7 or ipad air?

Mobile hotspot. Also, pretty much any smartphone will allow you to connect your computer to the internet.

They can be, or some tablet/laptops with full windows have them as well. It all depends on what exactly you need to be able to do.

Most people are fine with a 3g/LTE wireless adaptor for their laptop, you can easily get speeds of 2mbps in most areas and in others go WELL beyond that with around 100ms latency

I use a Verizon mobile hotspot. Works well.

I've run up to 4 devices off it at a time.

some laptops have built in sim card slots, so I would imagine that could also be an option.

Northern Lawn, just be aware that any 3G/4G wireless adapter, or mobile hotspot, or tablet/laptop with built in 3G/4G, etc. is going to be limited by the Cellular network that it connects through. If you're out in the woods and your cell phone doesn't have service (or has very slow service), then any wireless card that's running on the same service is going to have the same problems.
