My computer is fine except for one VERY annoying thing. It does this laggy thing. it does a momentary pause from time to time. it gets very annoying. During this momentary pause nothing seems to be functioning. it seems like there is a bottle neck. I have a hard drive ibm 13.7 gig hard drive at 7200 rpm and it seems to stop functioning during the pause and then it picks up where it left off. The funny thing is that if it freezes, it should just sort ignore any inputs from the keyboard or mouse, but it "remembers" everything I do during this freezing period. It seems something somewhere seems bottle necked or maybe my hard disk is underperforming my processor or the other way around something. I've got a p3 500. with 256 megs of ram. I know for a fact that the hard disk transmits at 8-12 megs per second I think. I also noticed the lag frequency picked up during a file transfer with my friend through icq. Maybe it's the lan card or something.
I've almost checked everything. I think it is mostly a hardware problem because I've obtained updates for every possible device that I have. bios, win2k, via drivers, vid card drivers, lan card drivers, sound card drivers.
should I try rearranging the sound and lan card/
