I'm Having A Problem With Radeon 9800 (Non-Pro Cat3.9Driv... AMD 2600+Barton

Hello, my Unlce gave my a 9800 Radeon (New from Ebay.com) and an Audigy 2 (from Ebay.com). We installed the cards at my house after loving his own Radeon 9800 when we tested it on my machine.

Well: Something is definatelly mest up and is worrying me. With the new cards in my system my CPU temps are going CRAZY. I mean Crazy. Even with open case i get a 48 C idol with Thermaltake Silent Boost and Artic silver 5! Now it gets worse though. My motherboard is a Aopen AK79D-400VN with Nforce2 400Ultra chipset. I can see the temperatures of everything in my PC. When i play either America's Army or Halo PC my temperatures shoot up to 57-86 C...but change very quickly with EZ clock monitoring. The thing that's killing me is these temps can really mess up my CPU but for some reason even with my motherboard set to Auto shutdown at 70C my computer doesn't shut down...but it does give me the warning beeps. I was hoping it's a software problem and maybe I just have to reload Windows XP Pro and redo the Motherboard CMOS. Please...Some one help me...I really need it. Both my uncle and I are trying to look around for answers. ALSO: I put my old PNY Geforce FX 5200Ultra card in and my CPU temps were fine!!! So could it be a software glitch or could the ATI Radeon be eating up my CPU and adding A LOT of heat to it?

This may not be much help to you, but I SERIOUSLY doubt that this is really happening...in other words, I would think it's just a software error. My own CPU temps (on a 2400+) barely changed from an MX420->Ti4400->Radeon 9800 Pro (although I try and keep a quiet PC and as such I idle ~47C, my temperatures never go above 57C, and that's only when the house is at like 76 F, which only has happened once (my mom was making a turkey :\))...

Yeah I hope it's just a Software/Hardware Glitch...shouldn't my PC have blown by now lol. Another thing though to keep in mind (testing this NON STOP)...ran some Benchmarks and even with CPU warning temps turned off my mobo was beeping. Then I went to play some America's Army 2.0 (extremely CPU intensive) and I wasn't getting any beeps althugh the temps were reading "69 C"

I dunno what's going on but for a Non Pro i'm getting about 4,480 3D 03 and 14,840 3D 01se. If i get this resolved I'm flashing to Pro.
