i'm a molecular biology and econ (business concentration) double major. mba will follow in a few years hopefully.
i will be talking to a CFO at Gene Logic, Inc. - they develop technologies to assist in drug discovery for biotech and pharmaceutical companies. here are the questions i have so far:
- some info on gene logic, what type of work he does, and if and when the firm will be profitable (many biotech firms are not)
- will his company be hiring next spring (when i graduate) and what degrees will they be looking for?
- if i pursue a molec. bio specific career would he recommend that i go directly for an MS before starting a job?
- does gene logic sponser new technical recruits for their MS and PhD's or must candidates already possess these degrees?
- what type of degree would he recommend for someone to enter the CFO field. how much work experience before an mba?
- would he be able to refer me to any other biotech/pharma companies regarding job apps for next year?
this is not a job interview, btw. just a q&a conversation. can you guys think of any other questions i should ask?
