I'm having a great deal of trouble trying to organize the current and next generation of video cards into a big list

You see, since ATI had to release a million X8xx cards, I really don't know how to compare them to Nvidia cards. Prices are all over the place, but from what I can gather, this is what I have so far (worst to best):

X300SE
6200TC 16MB
X300HM
6200TC 32MB
6200TC 64MB
X300
6200
X600PRO
X600XT
X700
6600
X700PRO

And from here on I get lost until the very end, which is like this:

7800GTX ^^

Also, where would the new X550, 6600LE, and potentially X800GT cards fit into this list?

Thank you all very much!

from there, you have the radeon 10 series competing with the geforce 6 series:
x800se = 6800le overclocked
x800 = 6800
x800pro = 6800nu unlocked, overclocked (x800gt would fit in between this and x800xl)
x800xl = 6800gt
x800xt = 6800 ultra
x800xtpe = 6800 ultra overclocked a little
x850pro = 6800gt
x850xt = 6800ultra overclocked
x850xtpe = 6800 ultra way overclocked

please correct me if i am wrong. i do agree ati has too many 10 series cards.

x800xt = 6800 ultra x800 xt is a little under
x800xtpe = 6800 ultra overclocked a little at stock, not OCed
x850pro = 6800gt not sure here, havent really seen anything on the x850 pro
x850xt = 6800ultra overclocked at stock or ver slightly overclocked
x850xtpe = 6800 ultra way overclocked Ultra is better on some games, not way over, but yes overclocked

How is the 6800 GT significantly better? They are quite close in performance, and the 800xl is cheaper as well.

That's pretty close.

Note that the X800Pro/XT/XTPE cards are basically gone, having been replaced by the X800, X800XL, and X850Pro/XT/XTPE. And I'm not sure if they're still making many X800SEs (Newegg only lists one X800SE card).

So ATI's current lineup of new cards roughly looks like:

X300 HM ~= 6200 TC
X300 (normal) ~= 6200
X600/700 ~= 6600
X600XT/X700XT =< 6600GT
X800 > 6600GT, ~= 6800NU
X850Pro > 6800NU, < 6800GT
X800XL ~= 6800GT
X850XT ~= 6800U
X850XTPE ~= 6800UE, << 7800GTX

Okay, this is pretty rough, but here is what I have now for performance:

X300SE $49.00
6200 TurboCache (16MB Onboard VRAM) $49.00
X300SE HyperMemory (32MB Onboard VRAM) $48.00
6200 TurboCache (64MB Onboard VRAM) $57.99
6200 TurboCache (32MB Onboard VRAM) $
X300SE HyperMemory (128MB Onboard VRAM) $52.50
6200 TurboCache (64MB Onboard VRAM (Fast)) $68.00
X300 $63.00
6200 $83.00
X550 $65.00
6600LE $
x600PRO $79.00
X600XT $89.00
6600 $102.99
X700 $102.00
X700PRO $123.00
X800GT $
6600GT $155.00
6800LE
X800SE
X800 $155.00
6800 $199.00
X800PRO $249.00
X850PRO $294.00
X800XL $250.00
6800GT $314.00
X800XT $
X800XT PE $
6800 Ultra $469.00 (Two slot)
X850XT $389.00 (Two slot)
X850XT PE $469.00 (Two slot)
7800GTX $479.00 (Two slot)

Here's a rough list with comparisons and prices, not including phased out, soon-to-be phased out, or I that I think will be phased out soon:

X550 $65.00 < 6600LE $
X800GT $ ? 6600GT $155.00
X800 $155.00 < 6800 $199.00
X850PRO $294.00
X800XL $250.00 ~= 6800GT $314.00
X850XT $389.00 (Two slot) ~= 6800 Ultra $469.00 (Two slot)
X850XT PE $469.00 (Two slot) < 7800GTX $479.00 (Two slot)

How's that ^?
