I'm having a a motherboard problem

Whenever I press the power button, the computer has this to say "spd missing byte 23 or 25 f1 to resume". After I press F1, it boots up normally. Nothing else seems wrong except when I check out the amount of memory I have. It shows 1.75GB in Windows Home Server as opposed to 2GB.

I have an ASUS M3A-H/HDMI motherboard. Could it be because I put the memory in backwards? How do I resolve this problem?

EDIT: I have 2 dual channel pc1066 memory modules in banks A1, B1 whereas my processor is an athlon 4450e 2.3ghz.

RAM cannot fit backwards unless you damaged the slot.

It is definitely a RAM problem as SPD is related directly to ram. Make sure within BIOS you are using the proper timings and voltage for your ram (also speed)

That's my problem. I cannot find a memory configuration tab in the BIOS. I'm assuming the pc1066 downgraded to pc800 and that is why I'm getting that warning. Anyway I can configure the ram?

It might be under cpu overclocking and things like that

Basically you want to change ram from "auto" to manual and specify the values that are right for your ram, including voltage

It might say "SPD" or "Auto"

Well, the ram says pc1066. But I read that the 780G AMD chipset will only support pc1066 if you're using a Phenom processor. I'm using a 4450e Athlon processor. Should I downgrade the memory speed to 800Mhz? Right now, I think everything is set to auto. And if it is set to auto, why would I be getting this message at bootup?

You were right. I was able to get to the DRAM settings by changing AI overclocking to manual. Now, what are the recommended voltages for this memory at pc800?

Most likely 1.9v or 2.0v. Start with 2.0v and see if you get any errors.

Its 2.1V

Site says 2.1-2.3 but you must use 2.1 especially if it states on the ram chip

I called OCZ and they recommended 2.1V (and 800MHz) as well. I did it and I still see the warning.

Time to test your memory with Memtest, one stick at a time.

I did it for a couple of hours and got zero errors.

I have exact the same problem with ASUS M3A-H/HDMI motherboard and NVIDIA SLI memory!
