And the person is overweight. Do you think that means they have given up trying to lose weight? I'm the type of person that is always looking for ways to improve so when I hear something like that it makes me think.

Thoughts?

Meh, people are happy for different reasons. The biggest thing to remember here is of course it's not your body nor your mind, so let them do as they please. Maybe they're just lazy and that's they're way of justifying it.

i think it's more of a way for them to portray that they are happy with themselves... they dont really mean it...

But do you think they truly are? Do you think they're telling themselves that because they just don't care anymore? I guess I'm thinking a little psychological right now.

I frankly am past caring. If they're happy, good for them, if they're just saying that, good for them.

Fuck it all.

Maybe they just don't fucking care about meeting someone else's standard of the ideal body?

depends on how fat.

i'm about 6'3 and 225. have a gut and some man boobs, but i look fairly fit with a shirt on.

i don't like it, but i'm 'okay' with it, and can see how others in a similar state would be. but a full-on fat tub-o-lard? they shouldn't be happy with themselves. sorry.

Or maybe they are just lazy slobs and don't care in general? "Someone else's standard"? If you're morbidly obese, that's a health problem, not "not caring about someone else's standard".

I'm fat for me (190lbs, 5'9"). I stay in decent shape though (2.5 miles 5 days a week, and 1 hour weights three days a week). I just eat too much :p

5'11, 260 lbs.

i'm not happy with my weight. in fact, i'm extremely unhappy to the point that it brings me to depression.

fat people who "are happy with their weight" need to be brought back to reality.

while i'm probably way overly self-critical, being fat is not something to be proud of, be happy about, be content with, or encourage.

i'm trying to do something about it. but i've been trying to do something about it off and on since 14. (i'm 24 now.)
