I'm gonna lose my WebServer connection for two weeks. Is there any place that could host my domain name for free?

Seriously though, I'm looking for someone doing that as a business. I would not feel right having a private person doing it. Specially since what I'm worried about is for the people that I'm currently hosting for, about 11 domains.

So thanks again for the offer, very nice of you. But I couldn't possibly accept it. It would feel too imposing for me. I'm weird that way.

No problem. I also wouldn't want to configure Apache for virtual name domains instead of virtual domains by IP.

However, if they were low traffic I wouldn't have a problem hosting them on my DSL. It's only 768Kbps, but that's probably enough for most. However the issue here would be that I don't want to read up on setting up virtual domains by name.

Now, if I'd get off my ass and coloc the stupid box, it be another story.

I wouldn't know how to start an Apache, but IIS5 is childs play for virtual domaining.

I'm also on a 768/128 right now, but I'm changing providers and hopefully they will be offering higher speeds for the same price soon. They said they will have a 7.1Gbps service. I'm salivating wondering if I'll be able to afford it.

www.doteasy.com has free hosting, but they will charge you for a domain transfer and it's probably too much hassle for 2 weeks.

If you want real hosting let me know and I can set you up for $6 per domain for the two weeks (10 MBs space though, more $ for more space).

There are a few other free ones out there but I can't think of them right now...

Damaged, Apache is quite easy to set-up for virtual name hosting btw. Just as simple as creating an entry on the .conf file

I could help you out if u like. Just reply or shoot me an email.

Geez guys, thanks for the offers.

I myself(sp) can hang for a couple weeks without a site. But if any of the other sites needs it badly I might take up on the offer just to hold a pointer to a free site.

But I don't think anyone will really need it. I was just trying to cover the bases in case one of them was showcasing their site for a job search or something similar.

But thanks again, it's nice to know our community is still friendly in spite of our huge growth.
