i doubt anyone cares, but i ordered an intel g965 btx board, to go with an e6300.

if anyone is interested in how this works , well ill be posting here in about 5 days when its setup. i will probably have an e6600 to play with too.

anyone think that an e6600 is worth it for $120 more than a e6300? thats about whati ended up paying.

anyone else with a g965 know if the 3d performance is even passable? just curious.

Some OEMs, primarily Gateway, have been shipping BTX desktops for a few months, some of which use OEM Intel motherboards.

Not yet, Intel still hasn't enabled the full hardware T&L or SM3.0 in the driver, so its essentially the same as GMA 950 until those hardware features are enabled.

well i got the new board. dg965ms . not bad, it is weird, all i've really done is swap my old board and chip d945paw + pentium D 820, for a new one dg965ms + e6300 and it actually does seem a lot snappier.

really wierd honestyl.

the one thing i noticed is that the g965 chipset is so new, that intel's desktop utilities, does not report the fan speeds / temperatures.

the bios that came with the board didnt even have it , until i got the latest update. and unlike my old intel board there isnt even a splash screen yet.
