In February of 2007 I'll be taking a trip with some other people to Spain. I've never been to Europe before, so I'm pretty excited about this, and Spain seems like a pretty cool place. We're going to fly from JFK into Madrid, then take a motorcoach tour spanning 8 days that will go through Olivenza, Cordoba, Seville, Cadiz, then finally to Gibraltar. We got a good deal because we're going with my school's band, and the total comes out to $2400, which doesn't seem that bad considering that we get EVERYTHING (airfare, hotel, 2 meals a day, ground transportation, and admission to all museums/attractions).

Has anyone ever been to Spain? If so, please share your experiences/thoughts.

It's going to be an awesome trip, but February 23rd seems so far away :(

Seville and Madrid were cool. Spain as a whole was very fun, but it has gotten a lot more expensive since I last went there. Try the sangria, of course.

make sure you go tapa hopping!!! it's like bar hopping but without the hangover!!! I was stationed in Rota (not to far from Cadiz) for 3 years!!!

Can you bring back some anchovy stuffed olives? The ones giant sells just don't do them justice!!

didn't like madrid much, barcelona was cool, Cordoba and Seville are fun. Goto to Ibiza if at all possible, non stop partying and the weed is legal.

by the way, I did 3 weeks in europe for less than 2400 including airfare and train pass. you can usually do it cheaper yourself.

I visited a friend for a couple weeks while she was studying abroad in Spain. The food and wine were wonderful. The people were beautiful (aka hot women all over the place). I was in Madrid, Barcelona and Mallorca. Wish we would've hopped over to Ibiza for a couple days but it wasn't in the cards. I really miss the olives :(

I have worked in Barcelona, spent alot of time in Sitges( coastal town/resort) There is marco Polo square to see as well as the massive church that is still being constructed/completed. You have to try the pasta with black octopus ink, its the greatest. Love the food, the culture and especially the ladies .

Cadiz is a topless beach. I lived in Seville for a summer and had fun. All the nightclubs and the nicer parts of town are west of the river. Most everything is closed from 2PM to 5PM. Dinner is around 10PM and nightclubs start getting busy around 2AM.
