I'm going to kill my coworker...

ok, enough is enough... and i'm getting ticked now. in short the story goes like this.

i have this female coworker that always makes comments on my work (i'm in IT, she's an editor). Things aren't always breaking and needs fixing since we (manager and I) take good care of the place and things work well together.

So... I sit at my desk and watch tv occasionily (tv near me) and read my books for certification. So she would comment like this. "What do you do here anywyas?" "Why don't you do something?" "Slacker!"

Once she had meant to throw something in the garbage can near me and wound up hitting the back of my head. (Still didn't lose it).

Yesterday, another editor was talking to me "so, you're working up there now? (IT recently moved)" which she commented "you work?"

OK, that pissed me off. I wanted to remotely fsck her machine to hell and back, being that i optimized these machines and stuff, i can surely fsck them up easily. grrr... i'm the type of person that brushes lots off, but when i get pissed, i bring them all back up in one shot, which is why i've been piseed since last night (over 24 hours).

So... my plan is to give her a warning and if she continues, her computing life will surely be hell. Anybody else have a suggestion?

If you do it, by all means, make sure it is not obvious, she's obviously got a burr up her butt already, you don't want her tracing it back to you. That said, if you can set something up remotely so that it bugs the crap out of her until she gives in and calls IT, then switch it off before anyone gets to her desk, so that the system operates perfectly while the tech is there, that would be funny. :D

Hey she deserves it. My recomendation:
1.take screen shot on her computer
2.set it as wallpaper
3.remove all icons and lower the taskbar
4.laugh, or cackle which ever you please

I know its an old trick but it is such a good one

It should be possible to screw her remotely just PLEASE don't get caught ! Hell, just get a nasty virus and install it on her machine, making her format :)

see, the thing is that she works the same shift as i do... so the IT support staff is essentially myself. things here are very quiet and i will like to keep things like that. i might just install a trojan onto her pc or something or maybe screw her profile (we use 9x clients with Solaris/NT in back). maybe a sniffer so i can see what passwords she types to access her hotmail account. i.e. don't mess with technology people... grrr...

hmmm, maybe you're reading her wrong. maybe she's got a severe case of the hots for you and just doesn't know how to show it besides the childish jests and jabs(afterall, she was probably an english major). She seems to be around you a lot and is probably trying to get a rise out of you so she can analyze you in ways only a criticly-thinking literature lover can so she can determine if you'll make a proper lover.

I say keep some Barry White mp3's handy and the next time you find yourself alone in a room with her, just flip on winamp, let the lovin' flow and take her right there on your keyboard.

either that or you could just tell her that you don't appreciate her snide comments because the only reason you don't have work to do is because you've already done a good job and if you don't like that then go jump off a cliff. maybe not that last part, but you get the picture.

oh, hopefully this person isn't 60 or something because then you shouldn't listen to what I'm saying.

tim0thy,

Considering the title if this thread and the ensuing discussion, you'd best hope that nothing negative ever happens to the target of your wrath.

Tell her that the reason you don't have to do much work is because you have done such a good job already. She is probably just envious because while you can do what you please with your time, she has to sit there poring over words that probably lull her to sleep. ;)

Also, tell her that your job is dependant on other people, her job is dependant herself. Then, she might be stupid enough to "goof off" like you are able to and get fired. :)

I agree with the crush thing ... shes sexually frustrated .. some women like to bicker with the object of their desire ... don't get mad just ignore her ...

I don't think she's that stupid... unfortunately. Damnest thing, she asked for my help to read over her column and I did, correcting her technical mistakes (and this was after the throw crap behind my head move). argh... i should have just told her everything looks fine and let her publish and make herself look like an idiot.

Would your real name be Stan Marsh and her name Wendy Testeberger?

Sounds like this one woman in the office. She jojes with a dead seriou slook on her face and it always gets you. Many new hires think she is a "snob" or "bitch" but then they realize she is just joking.

Dude,
Ask her if she's ever seen the broom closet. If she says "no" ask if she wants to :D She needs to be fed a bone.
