Rudeguy, how do you feel knowing there's about a 90% chance you'll be naked on that operating table, and all the Dr.s and nurses will see your little willy???

Better manscape before you head in 😉

Remember you live in MI...that's not really great sports medicine.

Um, what?

Between UM, MSU, WSU, being top flight research universities, Detroit's 4 pro teams, numerous minor league teams, and close proximity to the rest of the Great Lakes region, there is a TON of sports medicine along with every other kind being practiced here at the highest levels.

If you strapped another 40 lbs to your back I bet your knees hurt more. Take 40lbs off and they hurt less.

No. This injury happened when I was at my prime, 5'9" 165 lbs. It continued on in my 20's when I dropped down to 155 lbs. The only difference now is I can't avoid the activities that make it hurt.

Did you even read the issues I listed? They have zero to do with weight. But continue to be amazed that you can press buttons on your keyboard and the words appear on the internet.

*pokes Rudeguys moob*

Just remember what my ortho told me(after my knee surgery) "There's nothing a good surgery can't make worse."
True dat. Many years ago my sister went under the knife for some minor back pain. Years later, and 3 more surgeries, she now has a morphine drip fanny pack. She seems to take the pain in stride now.

Well...2 days away from surgery.

I am nervous but also excited to get rid of the pain. Bought a mini fridge and microwave for my shop at work to cut down on the number of trips up and down the stairs.

Weird thing is I don't know what time my surgery is yet. I guess they call the day before and let you know the time and also when not to eat or drink. Odd.

Prime = 165 lbs.

Good one Rudeguy.

163 and 167 are prime. 165 obviously is not!!!!

Rudeguy, since you are not so much a huge giant fat dude, you hopefully will recover quicker than most folks, and I suspect your mobility wont be crushed as bad as many others from the surgery. And since you don't poison your body with Alcohol, your judgement/coordination impairment should be minimized / limited to whatever painkillers the doc gives yah!

Good luck. I'm going into my surgeons office tomorrow (I got an appointment, I'm not crazy) and going to ask for a whole lot "looking over" my knee again. I'm in so much pain still.

Scheduling is finalized the night before based on urgency, surgeon tee times, what makes sense to move the work load through the OR the fastest...

No food or drink after midnight will cover you unless you have surgery at 5am. If you are scheduled later in the day, you may be able to get something EARLY in the am.

The hard line is 2 hours for clear liquids, 6 hours for solid foods. Try not to get too close to that. Aspiration pneumonia and PONV suck more than knee surgery...
