Other then throwing things at the white house and getting arrested what are some must see things? I am already going to the Smithsonian Air and Space.

Are you staying for the night? Cool daytime activities: Museums, Monuments, White House, Capital Building, Pentagon (in VA - One metro stop from L'Enfant Plaza on yellow line).

Checkout Georgetown in the day and adams morgan at night.

I got thrown out of a bar last weekend from Adams Morgan. I probably won't go back it's too expensive.

there are cheaper ones in anacostia.😛

Check out the museums on the mall. Adams Morgan is cool in the evening for dinner and bars. Legal Seafood is good. I have also heard the Spy Museum is cool.

Hmm..I'll have to dust off my suit and tie 😀

That spy museum sounds pretty cool...

I will also be taking my Rebel XT along with me and it looks to be a good day for pictures.

Spy museum is at least a 4 hour adventure and worth it.
Holocaust museum is another 2 hours.

If you have time the changing of the guard at Arlington Cemetary is pretty cool. Good photo op with your XT. Interesting fact, as you come down the hill from the changing of the guard there is a HUGE tombstone with the last name of Booth. This is the brother of the assasin of Abraham Lincoln, John Wilkes Booth.

The Vietnam Wall is another photo op and the Korean War Memorial too. And the WWII memorial is there now right by the Lincoln Memorial. It was finished about 2 weeks after I moved from the DC area back out to the Southwest.

Take you good walking shoes and some water. You're going to need it.

And stop in front of the White House. It is pretty cool to look at.

What lens(es) are you taking? And make sure you have plenty of CF cards as they will fill up quickly.

The Smithsonian is cool and the Air & Space Museum is right there on the Mall. However, that is another 2-3 hours.

Enjoy DC.

The Holocaust Museum sucks, imo. Went there in December for the first time and was very let down.

If you want seafood don't go to Legal Seafood, there are better places.

Dupont is pretty cool. Georgetown is also cool.

American Gothic is at the Renwick Gallery across from the White House. It's free.

Edit: Is Rolling Thunder heading through Saturday? Or is that not until Monday? That would be cool to see.
