the xp333 is a good board (i dont know if its the best, but its a good one :) )

i just bought a soyo dragon+
for several reasons, i love the high quality integrated sound, i also love that it has onboard NIC, not to mention the smartcard reader is cool :) even though i dont use the smartcard reader yet i like how it brings 2 extra usb ports up front, i also like the raid controller....

i based my choice on the great roundup article at toms hardware guide
so if i was you i would check out these two articles and decide what you want/need, and then decide what board does it for you :)

link 1 toms article
link 2 anandtechs roundup

you may like the soltek if overclocking is your mail goal :)

Just to let you know that if you look at anandtech's review on overclocking the iwill, you will notice on the head to head comparison with the abit that the main reason behind the increase in the performance is due to the increase in not only the fsb, but mostly because of the increase in the cpu speed.

I have a Dragon Plus, very nice board but not the absolute best for overclocking because you cannot adjust RAM vcore. KR7A is a nice overclocking board, very stable, if not the best value. No experience with Ali chipsets so I can't help you there.

I would suggest the XP333. Just make sure it is vesion 2.1 of the board. There are some slight layout differences that do affect performance. The newest version performs right on par with KT266A boards. It also overclockers very well. The board is also a good $30-40 cheaper than the KR7A. It the overclockers dream. It also has several tweaking features that no other boards have. The onboard audio is also excellent for an onboard solution. A RAID version is available as well.

I keep hearing that this isn't the fastest board out there. Yet if it is a good OC'er is it a good deal?

maybe 4-6 fps slower than the kt266a, but thats not important!
Stability is the most Important thing!
Do u think that the kr7a raid is more stable than the iwill?

The Iwill XP333-R rev2.1 board is a very stable solution, more so than any of the KT266a boards I have used.

I read the Anandtech comparison, and they said the same thing, " Very Stable" I guess I can live with that.

No issues under XP with the December on bios updates. The board has the same C-Media 8738 chipset as the Soyo Dragon. You will want to use the 6.32 drivers.
