I'm going to be #@$ed when DIII comes out

Don't usually play many games to death. But I know I'm fucked when Diablo III comes out. Anyone else?

Never having been a big fan of the first 2, I have to say that my hands on time with the game at blizzcon, albeit unfinished, really made me want to get it.

Oddly enough I just noticed a release date for it on walmart's website and it's quite surprising to me.

Hack and slash multiplayer with a smattering of RPG flavor are my favorite genre.. Been a serious lack of this genre in the last few years, I don't think there any on this generation of consoles. Can't wait for D3 and DS3.

From what I've seen, it doesn't fill me with joy but I'll probably play it to death.

I don't mean that in a graphics sense. D1/D2 were not graphically impressive but they had the setting, the atmosphere, the super interesting character classes who were diverse although ended up being pretty much the same on Battle.net.

So far, from what I have seen of Diablo 3, I'm just not feeling it. I just can't feel the character of the game through the trailers. With some games you can, some you can't.

I will probably be playing DIII for a long time - I just hope its better then DII. To be honest, I do not have high hopes for DIII, but you never know.

Diablo - great game that set a standard that all others were judged.

Diablo II + lord of destruction expansion - was a good game, but lacked a lot of stuff, such as a large amount of side quest, limited NPC interaction, little story plot - besides the cut scenes. The portals seemed to "patch" the world together. Poor graphics for the time - while most games were running at 1024X768, DIII was 800x600. With DII the player had to follow an exact path everytime they played the game; after the first hundred times through, this got a little boring.

Diablo III - ????

There were a lot of things that made the original diablo a great game. While at the same time there were a lot of things that made DII a good game, but not great.

I hope that DIII follows the example set by the original diablo.

I've tried Diablo 1 & 2 several times, but I just don't see the appeal. It's like playing Baldur's Gate without all the interactions/party banter and dialogue. I consider those essential to a good RPG story.

D3 seems to be more of the same hack & slash, though I will definitely give it a try since it's a Blizzard game.

When Command and Conquer Red Alert came out on Thursday, October 31, 1996 - I took off work and was standing in line 15 - 20 minutes before the store opened.

I'am hoping that DIII can be delivered over the internet. But then again, I would not mind having the disk for the game either.

After the release of DIII, I look for blizzard to make a collectors edition with all 3 games in it - kinda like what wal-mart carries now.
