I'm going insane, please help me

For the past 2 days (Freitag und Samstag) I have been doing no stop german. I just changed from a dumb full-time computer guy to a nerdy guy. I got straight A's in my classes other then my German and Trig. German took the cake out of me so thats why I went overboard on it this weekend. I studied 2 chapters (Kapitels) in 2 days, I wont know by montag but I will know if I rely on repition of the flashcards I created (650 total). Since Im so used to being on a computer, I feel the need to be on it or feel its presence but really this computer is at my dads house and my home work is all at my mothers house (I drive my bike between both houses, there a mile apart). I want to fulfill my entertainment and relaxation with something other then a computer, something productive. I want to play a dozen instruments but for one my family is poor and we can't hire any intructor on piano, saxophone, etc. Two, my family is over the limit of lazy, if they want the remote, i have to get it, grr. I hate my family and my mind has been lazy for the past 17 yrs of my life and now I am in the mood to kick some school butt. Since I did all the harsh work on studying 650 cards, I thought If I could read a big wampin book, I would interpret and process information alot easier. I thought about out that, it would give me something to do for one and two I would be helping my mind build it's ethic memory (Your brain is a muscle, it basiclly means excersise with it and it will grow if you give it maintance).

The story on how I made this sudden change is long, I need to be a great student in under a year. I am loseing my mind with this and I need some relief, please folks, will ya help me here.

I sorry, im under alot of stress and I still got a ton of things to do. I sopose the question is how can I get smarter? By reading a book or something?

I went from a history major to a physics in my third year. I completed my physics major in under 1.5 years, learning everything from general physics to quantum mechanics, and got accepted to MIT for graduate studies.

i've lost my sanity years ago and in the 3rd stage of becoming a mad scientist. You can do it too, just keep up the work.

being poor is little excuse!
save money and buy an instrument, like a guitar or something. (cheap ones are available on ebay)
download training videos and books online and teach yourself! (look at various torrent sites)

This helps:
1. brain develop more muscles (as u say)
2. fulfills yur need to learn something new
3. lets you learn an instrument from which to attract chicks (which i think u may really need)
4. has NOTHING to do with studies (and Germany)
5. give u a reason to not hear your lazy parents asking for the remote ("gee dad, i dint hear ya over my guitar")
6. great passtime, and last but not the least-
7. keeps you from being a total cpu geek

I'm in the same predicament as you =[ Eversince college started, i've been wondering how to get smarter. I just feel dumb all the time T_T How does one lose their mind and become a 'mad scientist' or study machine? I must learn how to do that.
