Ok guys heres the deal...
I recently built a computer for a friend if mine consisting of:
Celeron2 566 not overclocked and a slocket
Soyo 6VBA 133- flashed newest BIOS, using newest 4-in-1 drivers
Elsa Erazor3 Lt.- 5.22 drivers
SB live value -newest drivers
128megs PC 133
Motorla 56K modem
Creative 50X cdrom and 4X8X32 CDRW

A few days after i built the system he started experiencing lockups and random reboots so i replaced the motherboard. That didnt solve the problem and i replaced the power supply and slocket. After replacing it i ran the computer for 3 days solid, quake3 looping demos, prime95, burning cds...didnt have a problem so i put the cover on the case and gave it back to him
shortly after getting it back he started experiencing same problems...also sometimes the board finds 193 megs of ram or 64 megs (even though there is 128 megs physically)
He said his main problem now is having the computer spontaneuosly reboot before he gets into windows...but once he can get into windows he said it seems to be ok...
He does have an old house...is there a possible wiring problem or something?
The only other thing i can think of is bad ram...when i had his computer i put his ram in my system for a few hours and didnt have any problems though...

if anyone has any suggestions i would greatly appreciate it...ive never had so many problems with a computer...

reseat the memory and the processor, odds are they josteled loose during the car trip, happens all the time. Thats why alot of systems come hotglued together

Most likely the problem is what Xanathar suggested. Also own the 6vba 133 and the slocket (IWill II) took some muscle to seat properly. Not sure if the tight fit was the slocket or motherboard slot.

Make sure your 128MB of ram is seated in the bank farthest from the CPU. If your OS is 98/98se/W2K don't install all the 4 in 1 drivers, only the AGP.

Also check out a possible overheating problem. <<After replacing it i ran the computer for 3 days solid...didnt have a problem so i put the cover on the case and gave it back to him>> I'm assuming that you were running it those three days without the cover; as soon as you put it back on, the problems returned.

Try running it without the cover on it, and point a fan at it. I'm betting it will fix at least some of your problem.
