Well I'm not completely sure with the spkrs yet, I just put that up there for now to replace my white ones. But the monitor is top notch according to PCworld. Number 2 on their July 03 Top 10 list. And the price is right. I would have gone for an 19-inch black LCD with 16ms response, but that benefits does not justify the $500 price tag just yet.

Back in the day (when the IBM Aptiva series PCs were about the ONLY black ones you could buy) I wanted a black PC something fierce. Ihad a "beighe box" that I built myself. I had several "beige boxes" since. Now I have a silver and a black box. Now it is to the point where grandma can have a black box, so it's hardly a big deal anymore. Maybe we will come full circle where everyone wants a beige case cuz no one has them anymore? 😉 I also think color and style is secondary to performance, however, I am all about having both 😉

You know, I was considering uping my ram to 1gb and getting an 865PE motherboard to pair up with my Northwood A processor for about $160ish, but I decided I'd benefit more from a nicer monitor. Those extra memory bandwidth marks can wait! 🙂

i ended up all black...by coincidence only

black/grey dell
black dell LCD
black keyboard
black bose speakers
black sony phone
black leather mouse pad
only the mouse is silver/grey...well i guess i'm not 100% black

As long as it has good cooling, front USB, and no taller than 19 inches (427mm) -I'm down.

I have no black monitor or keyboard. I simply see no need (nor do I have the funds) to replace either of my two very nice monitors to simply get black ones. I am also somewhat attached to my keyboard, plus I can't find a black one that I actually like. One without all the extra garbage, like multimedia buttons, web buttons and seventeen other extra buttons. I don't need volum control or any of that garbage. I'm stickin with my beige monitors and keyboard for now. When I have to replace, I will. I have a silver/grey MS Optical Trackball though...

I spend 99% of my time looking at the screen, not the casing of the computer and various periperals. I try to allocate my spending accordingly.

Hey, I just bought a black setup (Dell) for grandma yesterday! Worse thing is this new box will be dead quiet, and she can't hear anything anyway.

silver/black combination here

-microsoft black internet keyboard
-logitech mx 300 silver and black mouse
-samsung 172t silver lcd
-monsoon planar 9 silver speakers
-cooler master aluminum(silver) case with black drives

the speakers and monitor look like they were made for each other

I wish I had a digital camera to show a picture
