I'm giving up on B&M YMMV deals

I'm like 0/20 out of YMMV B&M deals. The fact that they never PM local stores for some reason and my area is high FW zone, I quit. Enough driving around and wasting gas.

I gave up after the second half hearted attempt. Spending one's life chasing hot deals is a great way to:

1) waste one's life
2) waste one's money (buying crap you don't need)
3) waste one's money (wasting gas and time to save $3)

A lot of people here have a true obsession with hot deals and I can't help but shake my head at it.
 
B&M = Brick and mortar, physical store

YMMV = Your mile may vary, little chance you'll succeed

PM = pricematch

Good, the gas is probably going to cost more than what you save if you c ount how many times you've gone out driving for the stuff, lol

Anyway, I was going to say that the reason most YMMV deals fail is because someone manages to catch a manager off guard or otherwise gets a manager to make a mistake... no, make that blunder... then they post it in hot deals. The majority of YMMV deals should be posted in brag and moan instead.

The true YMMV deals are more like: my local store ran out of brand X and are substituting brand Y (making something a better deal), check your local store.
 
After Haggling down from $499 to $149 for a replayTV at RipShack I might be done.

I do love my $212 Oly C-4000Z digicamera though!

Beat you by $18, got mine for $194. 😀

Lucky for me I live about 2 miles from Office Depot, Office Max, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Circuit City & Sears. Gas would be no problem for me. Time is more precious indeed. I'll only try these B&M YMMV "Hot Deals" when I think I have a chance of getting them. If I don't get it within my local B&M, that's it for me. I'll wait for the next "Hot Deal" and try my luck.

All the stores are 13 mile drive. I get pissed off it I don't get in on it, even though I never do.

i went for that and couldnt find it

in recent memory an audigy 2 retail for $54.99 was the only B&M i got
 
Only ones I've gotten that I can think of are:
1) the PNY ti4200 64M/4x actually with a 128M/8x in the box.
2) the HP 300i with the rebate that didn't exist so they took it off at the register.

The PMs never seem to work. I stopped trying.

If you need the item (for yourself or gift), it might be worth it. I agree that PM's and rebates are a pain....and sometimes they were NOT meant to work together, as many have discovered (somehow, I bet this has Circuit City and Western Digital Harddrive vs Sam's price attached to it!?! 😛) that the managers refuse to PM. Good Luck...and as usual, YMMV! 😉
