If it weren't for work, I would not have any need for a computer other than occasionally looking up something online like plane tickets. Of course now I have this worse-than-crack addiction to Day Of Defeat. So I am stuck with them.
going without a computer isnt too difficult as far as college social life goes, especially since your GF is there too...but you might kick yourself when it comes to writing papers-I hope there's a 24hr computer lab/library available and close to your dorm.
i like having a PC in the living room... any time i need to know pretty much anything, there it is within a couple minutes. my GF is constantly asking "who's that? what else was (s)he in?" and that sort of thing when we watch TV or movies
I'm going backpacking in Washington (cascades, and Mt. Ranier) next tuesday.....for 10 days....w/o a computer......I wish I bought my PDA already. It's gonna suck tho; I'm going to come home and just stick the monitor cable into my forehead for a direct connection and not leave for the weekend.
Actually, I did just that a few years ago... I sold my 386-40, and didn't buy another computer until Pentium 166 days... I didn't have a computer for about 3 to 3 1/2 years... I completely skipped the 486 days...
LOL, Spook, you must have lived a very balanced life for that time period. Is it me or does my life completely revolve around computers now? Freaking a... I used to be so much more well rounded. %&@)*#&(@*&# DAMN ATOT!!!
No but seriously, I don't even touch the tv anymore. This is just plain bad. Good luck without that computer. But I bet you gonna be over at your gf's place 24/7 for her and the computer.
I was in the Navy back then, and I got stationed in Puerto Rico... And I dumped the computer habit... Yes, I was much more balanced back then. Now, I'm married, and get the "Why do you spend so much time on the computer" retoric
