i'm gettinng an odd error from XP

An Exception occurred while trying to run "shell32.dll,C ontrol_RunDLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\sysdm.cpl,"

i had random reboots while playing the newly downloaded demo of BF2 & FEAR. I thought perhaps my 9800 pro was overmaxxed, so I switched to regular old BF1942.. every so often, my PC would lock up - I checked system log in event viewer and said that my System Restore initialization process failed.

any ideas on how to fix or what's going on?

i have antivir running now, but don't think that's the problem.

nm.. finally found the answer here

  • found this command, which reinstalls just system restore itself. woot.

    rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf

replaced c:\windows... w/CD location of file..

worked.
