I'm getting this error message: "Javascript is either disabled or not supported by this browser."

I'm using Netscape Communicator 4.7 and I have my---
Edit>>>Preferences>>>Advanced>>>Enable JavaScript option checked.

What should I do?

Thanks, rnmcd

Apparently a lot of the solutions for Netscape woes is to delete the cache, history(netscape.hst), and cookie files.

So try that, if it doesn't work then reisntall the darn thing.

Netscape can be a pisser sometimes.

What is the best way to delete the cookies when using Netscape 4.7?

I went into Program Files>>>Netscape>>>Users>>>\default
and noticed there was a "cookies.txt" and "cookies.txt.$$$" file.

What is the difference between the two?

Thanks, rnmcd

Ahh I remember this problem fondly..

What you have to do is just re create another profile in the profile manager and copy ONYL the important files you need ie mail and bookmark files.

Something went wrong with your Netscape java junk. I had this problem for the longest of times and this cured it.

Hope it works

rnmcd, the cookie file is cookie.txt
I don't know why you have the $$$ file, but you can take a look at it by opening it with notepad. Besides deleting the file, or files, you can also clear your cookies by disabling them on your preferences.

Also, what Gatsby said makes sense.

I created a new profile with Profile Manager but I am not sure how to copy over the bookmark and mail files. Do I just copy them with Windows Explorer or is there some way to do it with Profile Manager?

Also, are there any other files that should be copied to this new profile?

Thanks, rnmcd

to ge teh bookmark file copy the html file called bookmark.html to your new directory.

Mail files should be located in the mail sub folder. Just copy those and you sbould be fine

oh hell yes.
Not because they did any better a job designing it, but because it is sooooo much more common, that websites are geared toward it.
