I'm getting old(er). Are Levi's Jeans 'dead'?

They are definately having trouble staying with the times. I think there was an article posted here a couple of years back regarding this.

Something like the Levi's company having to do some restructuring because they're having trouble competing with like ultra cheap overseas labor, and stuff like that.

AFAIK Levi's doesn't have any US made Jeans anymore.

I have like 10 pairs of jeans and 6 are Levi's

Same here, except I think 8 of 10 are Levi's. I like they way they fit, or I can find a style that fits nicley from age 15 to 45. I love my Levi's.

Levi's Premium has a few nice models, which you can pick up pretty cheap ($20-30) if you know where to look. I swear by Paper, Denim & Cloth though... pricier, but the look and feel is well worth it.

levi's = classic
and it will always be that way

however they are having trouble staying in business, my friends brother works for them in the sac fransico office

Hmm.. Yeah.. probably hence the article.. Pretty sure it was actually a couple of years ago. But maybe it's been like that for more than a couple of years? I don't really remember.. I just remember reading the article.. lol

Yeah, I had a pair of silvertabs that lasted FOREVER and were still really comfortable. I decided to buy another pair recently, and I'm thinking I might only buy them from now on.

Sadly Levis is pretty much dead. They closed thier last American factory, was in San Antonio, not too long ago.

Now they just make the same generic made in China jeans that everyone else does.

Nah Levi's are fine. I like the style and cuts.

Apprently in England and Europe we have get different styles and stuff that you guys in the states don't get.

I only wear Levi's. I have some feminite friends who swear against them, and only wear Banana Republic or GAP jeans. Levi's are for men.

I still wear Levi's and have since high school, which was the early 80's. I don't dress to look fashionable or to make a statement. I just find them comfortable. I'm a old phart who can't change his ways. 🙂

I've never owned a pair of Levi's and I'm 22. My jeans of choice are Polo Jeans co. Quiksilver makes some decent ones too.

Ralph Lauren sells some nice jeans at their outlet for around $30. Those are what I've been wearing for the last 6 years or so. The relaxed cut fits me perfectly. (my legs no longer fit in straight cut jeans... the downside to working out)

I agree that the quality of Levis have gone WAY down. My last pair fell apart within a year.
