i just got my DirecTV receiver/UltimateTV this weekend. $10 AR for the whole setup, including wireless keyboard.

Good luck on the install. Nothing can really go wrong except hardware being faulty. I would look on ebay for receivers. A lot of people buy the entire system and sell the separate compenents on ebay because they can sell each part for more than the entire package costs.

We got ours installed this weekend as well. Looks amazing with s-vid cables hooked to our hdtv. Only prob so far is we had a bad storm down here in South Fla yesterday and the signal cut out for about 20 mins... Other than that though, its been fantastic.

Over a year, I had my sat go out twice caused by storms. It can happen though.

I've had Directv for about 8 months and love it.

Storms can be a bitch, especially if you are watching a game or a favorite show. I had to readjust my dish this summer as the leaves on a tree were blocking my signal on some channels. Nothing more annoying than the digital chirping noise you get when the signal is interrupted.

Hell no, not yet. They will be $200 or so in a year, and have more than just 4 channels. Its a complete ripoff to buy one now...

I just stopped my directTV service. Basically punnishment for my kids because they havnet been doing thier chores.
