Didn't say a new truck, it's a 1970 GMC Jimmy. It's pretty rough still, but had very little rust and seemed like a very good deal. He was asking $2000 but he took $1800 for it. He's put a lot of money into it and hasn't gotten any use. It has a 4" suspension lift, new 33 inch tires, new clutch and pressure plate, alt, and it has very little rust on the body and the body is in overall very good condition. He's delevering it to me on Weds, I'll take some pics then.

Cool. Is the motor original and unopened? How many miles? I wonder if it burns any oil?

It's probably got a GM350 under the hood; the most prolific and cheapest motor to rebuild on the planet. You could rebuild it for cheap and have a 400HP motor w/o even spending much at all.

Good luck. :)

ps
It is 4WD, with a low range, right?

Not original motor, and I'm not sure what kind of condition the engine is in yet...It has no radiator and wiring problems and does not currently run, but it won't be expensive to get it running either. The main thing I was worried about was the amount of rust, and it was reasonable.

And it already has 3/4 ton axles, probably going to lock them eventually.

1970 GMC Jimmy 4x4: This is a great project truck. The frame is from one '70 Jimmy (with it's own title), the body from another '70 Jimmy (with it's own title) and the running gear (engine, tranny, transfer case, and rearend) are from a 1975 Chevy ¾ Ton truck. It has a 4" Rancho suspension lift with 33x12.5 tires on 16 ½ (8 lug) chrome wheels.

The motor is a 350. It has been running (3 years ago) but there is no radiator so it wasn't ran long. It currently does not run. It does require some work to be done on the wiring to make it operable. Many items have been purchased for this vehicle, to include:

New clutch and pressure plate
New drive shafts
New exhaust (Hooker headers w/glass pax and pipe running out in front of the rear wheels)
New alternator
New shocks (Rear)
New tires and wheels
New ignition switch
Replacement rear bench seat
Replacement front buckets (from a '75 Chevy P/U)

He's asking $2000 but I think that I can talk him down to $1800 easily, as he's had it for sale for awhile. I think this is a pretty good deal, what about you?
