im getting a new pc !!!

please just lsit the damn thing. most peopel dont want ot click on 11tybillion links, espically at work.

2x dvd writers are worthless, you'll never write 2 dvds at the same time, you cant do that no 1 ide controller.

high end ram is worthless on am64s, just get valueram.

get a opteron 165 socket 939, better ocer, more chache, lower price.

pos motherboard. overpriced like hell. It's a truly noob motherboard, only goot thing is it's easy to set up. get a Epox 9NPA+ ultra model for nforce4 ultra or a asus A8N sli for nforce4 sli. those choces are less than half price. good ocers too.

case is a giant waste of money, get a antec p180 for quiet.

bad power supply for the money, get a
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817703001
much better quality, basicalyl same peak wattage, better rail control and quality.

sound card again is crap. platinum and extremem music is same damn card, except platinum has a ugly break out boc for your 51/2 inch drive bays.

tv tuner is overpiced, spend a bit more for the ati hdtv wonder.

video card is overpriced, for 7800gtx, go for the evga 7800gtx ko. much lower pcie, same quality and basicalyl same warranty. hell you dont even need a sli motherboard with only 1 card, you can get 2 with the mnoey i just saved you though.

lcds are not the best for gaming. CRTs still king. get a 2405fpw(dell) or a 2005FPW if you want lcd.

get a

if you wll go CRt.

plextor are nice but overpriced, a NEC 3550A would do the same things just as well for much less.

do some research next time. you seem spent no thinking more expensive and flashy=better which is false 99.5% of the time.

You'll get a lot more responses by actually listing your components. Clicking each link is a pain.

edit - good i'm not the only one annoyed this morning

Care to explain this? I have A64 3200+ processor and initially put in 1GB of Kingston ValueRam. I was thinking of later changing it to something with tighter timings. Will it be useless or should I go for it some time in the later part of 2K6?

I really didn't want to click on the links to look at that stuff, I did however click on a few of them, enough to notice that your build doesn't really look too good.

I don't like your case!!!
That motherboard is an overpriced POS, it's not worth it.
I would go with an Opteron 170 instead of the 4600+

who knows what else is bad in the build, you should list all your parts instead of link them.

Thanks! I will look into this later.

I suggest dropping the sound card for the Fatal1ty edition. I got one with my 7800GTX and it compliments the graphics quite nicely. Also make sure you get a nice headset or speaker system to go with the card. I recommend the eDimensional ForceFeedback headset.

Agree w/mwmorph on both issues. First list the freaking parts with embedded links if you wish. Second, most of your components are overpriced garbage e.g., psu ( PC Power & Cooling is top of the line, the only time spending a bundle on a psu is for one of theirs), mobo, again get ASUS which on another forum is the hands down choice for AMD.

As an aside, nice to have the financial resources to throw at a system build.

Careful with ASUS. Their tech support is the WORST I've ever experienced. If you have a problem they can't solve they just ignore your support request.

I didn't click on all the links, but OMG what a waste of money for the case and PSU.

If you want Abit mobo go with the AN8 SLi - pretty cheap now compared to when I bought it.
I too vote for the Antec P180 case!

I don't remember the Opteron CPU's being out when I bought, or maybe I just didn't look at them. Not sure what the difference is, but they seem to be real popular buy now!

really? i had a problem with a geforec2 from asus and got a rma box in 3 days.

my motherboard support has been fine too. I've bought asus from my 486 days through the pentium 1, 2 ,celeron(p2 version), pIII, amdxp, amd 64. and tech support was pretty good for me.

It's a joke.

Pretty sure he just found the most expensive stuff possible and slapped it all together.

Would be hilarious if someone actually made that kind of computer, though.

i thought that too and then looked at his postcount and join date and thought maybe i should help.

Do you hink that will good enough to run media center?

i'm sorry, but you will need more power to run media center.

it looks like all you did was just pick the most expensive components. 😕
and $370 for a case? i would never spend anything over $60 for a thermaltake. they are not known for quality. instead, you should look at lian li cases. also, go with 7800gtx in sli and 4gb of memory if you're going to go all out.
