I'm getting a new basketball...check this thing out though- it's friggin weeird!

I need to get a nice leather basketball and I found what I need- but look at what I found while looking for one...

Glow in the dark basketball

I might just have to get myself that ball for my latenight summer basketball sessions! That is pretty friggin cool. The only bad part is that it's 1/2" too big...hmmm...

If ya want the glow in the dark effect, just get some glow in the dark tape or something and put it on a standard ball.

Illkid, you must not be much of a shooter because anything foreign on the ball feels like crap. The worst is when a lil dirt hardens on it- I hate that! Or when some dirt hardens and cracks off so it's really soft and hard to grip- YUCK!

Maybe I'll get the glow in the dark one for night, a nice leather one solely for indoor uses, and I can still use my rubber ones (I have like 5 of them- got them at camps) for pick up games or just practicing outside. I don't really want an indoor/outdoor leather ball- the cement outside just wears down the leather too fast and makes it really slick and it becomes really crappy after a year- but maybe...I'll see. I think I'll start with the leather one because there is still snow on the ground so I can only play inside for awhile anyway- but once i can start playing outside again I'll get that glow in the dark one. hehe

Good lord look at the grooves at the seams on this ball...wow...my mouth is salivating...but no, that could just give me a false sense of security. The real way to improve something is to use the crappy equipment so when you move to the real stuff you can do everything much better...right? :Q No, I WON'T buy that ball- it would give me a false sense of security!

Actually, I just don't like a bigger ball. Not like I'd put anything on it anyways, it just feels wierd playing with a bigger ball, even if only a half inch. Anyways, unless it's really dark, there'd be no need for glow in the dark. Good thing my hoop is right next to a streetlamp.

illkid, I know, i hate using a bigger ball too- but ya gotta do whatcha' gotta do right? Maybe I'll go to Dick's tomorrow and see if they have a 29.5" version of it- I still have some time before I get the glow in the dark one.

Heh, it gets tricky at night when I play because if I miss and it goes off my driveway into my yard (no light really gets there) it can get kinda interesting. Maybe I can convince my parents to have more lights installed. I only have two over a door from my garage and a front light that is like 10 feet behind (towards the street) where I play and then a bigger light that is like 30 feet behind where I play (towards the street)- so it gives some light, but not enough for my satisfaction!

The |'s are the outline of my driveway, the H is my hoop. Where the wide part of my driveway meets the narrow part is about 18 feet, so shooting three's in my driveway isn't that great, I don't get the sides, mostly just the top of the key.
