Hooray, I finally got approved by the Gestapo (Humane Society). I'm picking up what appears to be a Russian Blue kitten (I'd prefer a Korat), but it's really cute and playful. I hope it plays well with my current cat. Anyone have ideas for a name (boy)?

Update: named it Divx

I put on the application that I wanted the cat "to eat" but then scratched it out, I'm glad I did, I had no idea how anal these people are.

brutal humor attempt....

what'd you pay for that cat ?

Me and my girlfriend picked up two kittens at the humane society for 150$ EACH! All cats are 120-130$ + 10$ micro chip + tax.

No lie, I see a cat in the middle of the road (yes it was this morning) and I think to myself... another one bites the dust. Cats are too curious for their own good... they're not house pets. :(

To Quas, I guess I could say grats, but I'm also rolling my eyes at cats, again.

yup, that's exactly what we got for both of our cats, plus the fact we 'saved' them is nice!

We also get free vaccinations and such if they are found with some sort of issue within 14 days.

I was thinking of getting a cat from the humane society also. Could you be more detailed about what hoops they made you jump through.

The Russian Blue cats I've known have been neurotic, and I understand that's a trait. Watch out.

They are that way for very good reasons. There are too many irresponsible people with pets in the first place which is one of the ways the Humane Society, local rescue groups, and shelters end up with the animals in the first place.

I didn't have to do anything but look for the animal I wanted...there were no special forms or waiting period for me.

We have a Russian Blue mix as well. He's a freak for water, which is supposedly common for that breed.

As for naming, ours is named Milo. We reference his Russian heritage and call him Milosevic when he gets in his batsh!t crazy modes. Otherwise he's commonly referred to as Grey Devil.

Milo
