Can anyone advice whether this monitor is good for normal day to day use? I game a lot, browse online with videos and stuff. I also code and edit copious amounts of text all day, will this monitor serve my needs?

I'm asking this because reviews mention the monitor has some flaws. But I'm getting a very good deal on this. So I'm wondering if I can overlook these flaws considering the deal I'm getting. This monitor has everything I can ask for.

Only 8-bit so not enough for HDR. HDR needs a 10 bit panel. There would be perceptible banding in scenes with gradients like skies etc. And the panel is VA so if you have been used to IPS before, VA might seem like a downgrade, except for dark scenes which would look much better.

Thank you so much for the reply.

Yea I know the panel is 8 bits + FRC to make 10 bits and its VA instead of IPS. The price I'm getting this monitor for is 400$ new. Wondering if it can be a good value at that price considering its features and its size.

one thing to be cautious of is the sub pixel layout. there was a 42" asus with GBR instead of RGB subpixels that required a tweak window registry to get cleartype fonts working properly.
