that's just because the ISP needs the bandwidth to hijack the little camera on your Mac Display to use it to spy on you and stream a constant video feed.

yay for the UK!

Not for me, but you have one I have no problem with it.

They don't need to hijack it I signed the "Webcam Surveillance act 1996" that allows the UK government or "thought police" as they prefer to use it at will... didn't everyone?

I wish....

You have a download cap?

Nope, we have a fair usage policy which means that if you use too much data to the point where it negatively effects others on the network then you might have your speed cut, I've been told it happens if you go over about 750GB a month or so.

15mbps is plenty fast for any normal human being. I'm cutting back on my spending so I'm downgrading from 25mbps fios to 15mbps cable.

I can fit a lot of simultaneous porn streams on a 30" monitor...

D: that can't be possible. I know you live int he boonies...but wtf?

I'm at 3mb/s, lol. :D (requested downgrade)

lol yeah its 2gig and they raised it from 1 not to long ago!

though i don't think they enforce it much. Since im retired and a nerd i play WoW and ToR a lot (and nef here) and i gotta think i use more then 2gig a month.

the only time i got nailed is when i reinstalled Windows last year and had to download a ton of updates for games. they shut me off and all i could do was get email. one told me i was downloading to much (2 gig that time) and so i had to be running a business.

I called and asked them to look at logs. they did and said sorry and turned me back on lol

I stopped caring. When I was in a kid, I drooled over fast network... but for what? Downloading programs and mp3s faster?

Now I do nothing with my PC at home, other than browsing and gaming. I got upgraded to 35mbits from 25 and I'm not even fazed.
I probably wouldn't care that much if my speed was downgraded to 5 mbits. Doesn't affect browsing ATOT/reddit/fb or playing games (as long as ping is good)

They wrote me and asked if I'd stop sitting at the computer in the nude, apparently they were getting too high a turnover of staff. :-(

Yeah... For personal computing I dont see the need for anything over 15-20mb/s, and most sites dont even make use of that to begin with

Only use I can think of for 120 Mb/s would be torrenting a truckload of stuff at the same time
