Some dude I've met online is sending me his "used" 9700 pro for free cuz he just received an fx5900 and a 9800 pro. Ah, And he's doing it for free, he's even paying for 2nd day air. It's already been shipped, I'm getting it monday afternoon.

I don't really have any questions, I just wanted people to envy me 😀

Sorry chief. A free 9700 Pro just won't make me envy you.
1. I have a 9800Pro, so I don't envy 9700Pros
2. I have $250 to blow, so I don't envy you getting something that I could just buy without thinking twice about.
3. Most of all, if you envy other people for their possessions, you always lose, because someone else always has better stuff than you do. (no matter who you are)
 
Hell I wouldn't take second hand stuff,I would send it to me so I can give it to a person that really needed it,that dosen't want no one to envy them 🙂.

PS: the card was shipped yesterday afternoon 2d day air and was scheduled to arrive monday, but I'm a lucky bastard cuz It's arriving today!! yay!

Those who post "I want you all to envy me" shouldn't be surprised when others say,"Big deal".

On the other hand, if you had posted "Wow! Some guy is giving me a 9700Pro!" some people probably would've given you the envy you apparently want, and guys like me would've said,"Good for you".

(i.e. Bragging, then telling people you want them to wish they were you, is asking for it.)

Since you can afford to buy a 9700Pro without thinking twice about it, how about it? I'll send ya my address, and you can donate me a 9700Pro. 😀
 
I'll be the first to one up you... I found a ratty, dirty, wet dollar bill in the parking lot of 7-11... so I bought an instant lottery ticket with it and won $350. So stick that in your AGP slot and smoke it =)
 
Well, the radeon is in place. I can now play CS @ 254 fps instead of the measly 113 fps I had with my geforce 2 mx. lol. All joking aside, I sure am glad to be ready for HL2 and Doom 3 now. Until then, I'll keep looping 3d mark 03 and...er...are there any ATI tech demos? Nvidia has some gorgeous ones but I doubt I can run them without their detonators drivers. Ah, found them! they were hidden in the gamer's section 😛

 
I got a 9700 pro for free a few months ago too. Lets just say it was an engineering sample and I'm not going to tell anyone here how 🙂.

yup, it was sarcasm. Aimed at myself mind you. My point was that I have no real use for the 9700 pro right now 😛

you know what would REALLY make me happy? (yeah right) A nice headset/microphone to use with CS
