Ok So I'm getting ATT cable internet axs and want to buy my own router. ATT lists theses as acceptable devices:
3Com CMX2940, 3CR29220, 3CR29221, 3CR29223
Arris/Nortel CM100, CM200, CM200U
BestData CMX100, CMX110
COM21 DP1010, DP101, DP111, DP1110, Doxport 1110
D-Link DCM-100, DCM-200
Ericsson PipeRider HM200C
High Speed Surfing SM100
Linksys BEFCMU10
Motorola (formerly General Instruments) SB2100, SB3100, SB4100
Thomson/RCA DCM105, DCM205, DCM215, DCM225, DCM226, DCM235, DCM235R, DCM245, DCM245R
Toshiba DAZ8801, DAZ8811, DAZ8813, PCX1100, PCX1100U
Zoom 5011 (external model only)

Also I got a bunch of these darn belkin NIC Cards but the seems they can't output much on a 100mbit.(I could only upload around 200K on a 100mbit network) any suggestions on the NIC's?

In some ways I'd like to make my home wireless but i'm not quite sure yet, if I could do both that'd be cool. Can I get some suggestions please, I don't really have much of a money constraint but I'm limited to larger computer chains like Best Buy and Circuit City and Comp USA.

Any and All suggestions I appreciate. TIA,

Josh Fecht

You said you wanted to buy your own router, but the devices you listed I believe are all modems. The modem I'm using is the Best Data CMX110 right now with great results. As far as a router, I use a Netgear RT314, it was easily set up and seems to be reliable. I also use a Realtek NIC in one of my boxes, that seems to work well too.
I saw a deal at Fry's I believe for a Motorola cable modem for $49 when you sign up with AT&T.

I like my LNE100TXs - there are probably better ethernet cards out there, but they have worked well for me.
