out camping with the boy scouts for my sons pack. finally got into bed away from the fire and its cold as shit. supposed to get down to 38 tonight.
on the plus side... cell reception! maybe the warm glow of my screen will keep me warm.

its actually pretty fun

I'd almost be willing to trade you. My neighbors are having an Oktoberfest party, and all I can hear is the bass thumping.

Cold weather camping is great. Much better than sweating your ass off in the heat, while you count the bugs landing on your face.

It's kind of strange the illusion of heat light can give. You should have packed a kerosene lantern. It /looks/ warm, and makes you feel warm, but isn't all that warm. Not in an outdoor situation anyway.

Les Stroud recommends warming rocks next to fires and then placing them against you when you sleep. Rotate them out every so often.

I've been procrastinating on my custom desk build, my garage is not insulated. Paying for it now. Froze my hands today working on it. I brought a 550w heater but given the garage is not insulated and is actually vented for when I do finish it, the heater did not do much but act as a place to go warm up my hands.

That's another project I want to take on some time is finish up the garage so I can put AC/heat in there.

Seems summer just flew by this year. There is 79 days till Christmas. When it starts to get cold, Christmas season is the time I look forward to. Nice to see all the houses lit up and stuff. It even snowed today. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

I went to Canadian Tire the other day to buy some screws (and naturally 100 bucks worth of other random stuff). I could not help but laugh at the fact that BBQs, the Grim Reaper, and Santa Claus, were all in the same section.

man it got chilly last night. i was about to piss myself at some god forsaken hour, so i got up to pee. it wasnt really all that bad. a lot of people wimped out and didnt stay the night.
cold camping is a LOT better than the heat, humidity and bugs of the summer.

^^pussies. I remember one time in scouts we had 10+ people in a 4 person tent. It was like 30 fucking degrees.

Man I don't miss that at all LOL

The Costco in Burlington has had Christmas trees since July. D:

Insulating the garage is one of the best things we did. It's not heated but it never seems to drop below 0c, even when it's really cold outside. Becomes a giant beer fridge during the winter.

It was cold here last night. Went down to 6c. Though I remember it being even chillier at this time of year. Temperature fluctuates a lot during October. I've heard mixed things about winter. Some say dry, some say wet. The meteorologists at work haven't a clue. We do need snow this year though. I think that's why the growing season was so messed up. Never got that slow melt seeping into the ground.

I wonder if Home Depot is open tomorrow. I'm going to make some snow chains for my RC trucks.
