My brother and a friend of mine left Houston not too long ago; one went to San Antonio and the other to Austin.

Good luck finding a hotel room.

and best of luck to all my fellow Texans.

well i got from downtown out to my parents' house in katy in about an hour and 10 minutes. the back roads i was trying to use were clogged. then they opened the contra flow on I10, so i went to check it out. it was jammed just west of katy. i suppose that is because at brookshire, 6 miles off, I10 narrows from 3 to 2 lanes. maybe after that it would be fine. but we decided to turn around and have dinner with my parents.

right now, I45 and US 59 north both seem to be clear. i'm wondering if US290 and I10 will clear as well in the next couple hours, or if everyone has decided that going north is a bad idea and are taking 290 and 10. if they do clear then i'll continue to austin. if not i'll probably just shelter here in katy, especially if the predicted tracks keep the storm off to the east

I have a sister-in-law that fled from Corpus Christie to San Antonio.

She just gave birth a week ago too.

Not fun stuff.

🙁

Hope y'all down there stay safe.

Good luck, I am staying put right here in Kingwood. We will see, I made it through Alicia in 83 with no problems and the winds were higher than those projected for us at the moment. I am quite prepared and have many options even if it gets bad.
