I really wanted to work under a psychiatrist but they say I need more experience than just two years of undergrad work

I just want to even to shadow or anything!

I guess I'm planning on the medical route to become a physician of some sort...... hopspitals my only choice?

I really wanted to stand out and do some work at a correctional facility, but that fell through

I'm a bio major by the way... so far behind from the rest of the classmates.

need more research, more clinical exposure, more extra volunteer that allows me to stand out, more working odd jobs for money, etc. :(

how much volunteer experience do you have?

zero

I just did research for a semester, which sucked.

ok well your easiest route is to volunteer... stay with that for a year or so and things will be easier next year

yes, or something else if you find something else you enjoy... like eldercare or something. if nothing else, do it in the meantime... it's great that you want something that will make you stand out, but if you keep on doing nothing waiting for that opportunity, you're going to be worse off than if you had volunteered in the meantime. not to mention, you currently don't have anything to make you stand out for the opportunities that will make you stand out.
