I'm down 7 lbs in 1.5 weeks...

I don't know what % is fat vs water, but I feel thinner, and I can even do my belt up one extra notch.

I've been eating 6 smaller meals a day, I walk about 5 miles a day and drink about 2 litres of water a day.

A question:

My water levels have never seemed to fluctuate much, never more than 1 or 2 lbs ina day.

If I'm drinking so much water, how would I be losing "water weight"?

I've always wondered the same thing myself. If you drink a gallon of water per day, that's a little over 8-lbs of liquid everyday. It amazes me the body uses most of that, because I know I'm not pissing a significant amount out. Yet, when you diet, the first thing you lose is "water weight".

Keep it up!

Is water weight really something you should worry about? I don't think you can possibly lose 7lbs of water weight and its bound to fluctuate, so just keep it up and watch the longterm trends, not the daily 1lb fluctuations.

1L of water = 2.2 lbs

That means that my body is taking in 4.4 lbs of water every day, and yet I'm losing more that that every day?

If you're exercising and eating well, you're probably minimizing the water weight loss and maximizing fat lost. Text

More likely you're taking in 4.4 lbs of water every day and urinating, sweating and breathing out, say 4.5 lbs. It's nothing to worry about, just keep drinking the water.

you sohuld be drinking twice that much water. you are only counsuming the recommended level for epople not on a work out regement.

It's because when you don't drink enough water, your body ends up storing it because it thinks there's a drought or something. Once you start drinking a lot, the body will release that stored water because it assumes you're not going to need it as you have an adequate intake of water.

Yeah, that'll happen the first two weeks. You'll have to pee a lot too. It's curve off after that though and you'll go down to 1-2 pounds a week. That's the stage where people quit because they think the diet doesn't work anymore.
