Can someone please tell me how to do this?

KRNL386.EXE and KRNL286.EXE should be located in the Windows SYSTEM subdirectory. To successfully load Windows, move these files from the Windows directory to the Windows SYSTEM subdirectory.

COPY d:\windows\krnl*.exe d:\windows\system\

reads: copy from drive d🙁stands for whatever drive letter the windows folder is on)\windows\ all files beginning with krnl and ending with .EXE to d: etc.

It doesn't matter if they remain in both folders or if other files with similar file names are copied as well.

That's not your problem. You don't need to copy any files because it's obvious that you need to reinstall windows.
