As if the price wasn't bad enough, we now must pay an increased ticket price and have to watch commercials. I went to see Barnyard and their was 2 Old Navy comemrcials, 1 National Guard commercial and a Coke commercial. This is ridiculous. Not to mention before the previews start their are ads that rotate. If they are gonna put up advertisments the ticket price should be lower.

Agreed. I hate the Fanta commercials the most. There are now more commercials than previews.

Movie experience is nothing compared to what it used to be, but I'll still keep going at non-peak times for movies that I really want to see (which isn't much these days)

I quit going too. I can buy the dvd cheaper than the price of two tickets + the cost of gas to get there. And I don't have to put up with idiots throwing popcorn, snoring, and putting there knees on the back of your seat.

It's too bad you don't have one of these next to you. Six bucks for an evening show, no commercials, you can order *real* food and have it delivered to you, plus picture+sound are just awesome.

Even bigger of a gripe of mine is the ever increasing addition of non-skippable adds at the beginning of DVD's.

That pisses me off even more than commercials in theatres.

It's so bad that I endded up ripping the DVD's and re-encoded with the movie only on DVD's that I bought.

why even bother going at all when you can rent the dvd like 3-6 months later and watch it in the comfort of your own home?

Well for certain movies you need to see them on the big screen and some people don't have that luxury at home.

Other than that unless its a really good flick there is no point.

I've been to the movies 3 times since early 2001. Fed up with all the crap.

I HATE that. I bought the damned DVD, why the hell should I be forced to watch adds/previews on my own DVD?

Are you 14?

No, are you?
Years ago the only thing before the movies were previews. I think the first time I saw a commercial before a movie in roughly 94 in LA while on a soccer trip in college.

Yes, I am old and remember a time where there weren't sh!tloads of inane advertisements before the main show.

no you don't. i watch 90% or more of the movies i rent on my 20" widescreen (and before that 19") lcd monitor. i don't miss the large theater screen, the sticky floors, the annoying people, etc at all.

I also remember when there weren't commercials in a theatre. In fact, I've never seen a commercial in a theatre. I quit going to movie theatres back in '91.

It was the people talking, putting their feet or knees on the back of my seat/chair, etc that got me to stop going.
