I'm tired of all the bugs.. there's little to absolutely no help from EA or their mods.

It's unfortunate, because I really liked playing it.

But when a company asks me to defrag, reinstall, reinstall patch - didn't work. then uninstall, reboot into SAFE mode, reinstall, reinstall patch - fixes 1 problem, but still crashes to desktop - that's insane to ask from your customers.

I'm looking for a similar game (without the bugs, of course) - normal bugs I can deal with, but not these.. not anymore.

any ideas would be great... maybe i'll go back to Oblivion.

Day of Defeat (haven't played Source), one of the CODs had a mode that played like BF, Star Wars Battlefront (and 2), and Joint Operations.
 
I'm playing BF2 again after a year long break. I forgot how fun it is! While I like 2142, I prefer the vehicular carnage found in BF2 🙂 At least for now...
 
Enemy territory: Quake wars if you want multiplayer.

Single player:
My standing recommendations on the best first person shooters ever made (although they incorporate RPG elements), these two are also some of the best games ever made:

1. Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines (be sure to apply the latest official patch followed by the latest community patch to crush the bugs that are extensive out of the box)
2. Deus Ex (the first one)
 
i really like the look of quake wars.. but it's not released until 10/01/07 ?

i'll have to check out Deus Ex - i'd like a game with eye candy. 2142 looked really nice.
