Two weeks back I was banned for posting out of topic posts in the General Hardware forum. I was given a one-week ban. That is fine with me and it is something I can live with. Life isn't over, right?
Well actually wrong. First of all, I was banned right when I made a deal and I never copied the seller's address so I sent a request for me to access this information but I knew that a special request wouldn't be allowed. So I figured to suck it in for the week and then tell the seller that I am really sorry over the delay.
But that isn't what happened. Instead of being unbanned last Monday I was unbanned today. Last Monday I was not unbanned and every single day I sent in a request to be unbanned hoping for some kind of reply. Nothing came at all. So then I decided to message some of the well-known users on the boards and see if they can send in a request for me because their word will seem "more important"...or at least that is how I thought of it. The first person to come to mind was Mechbgon (sp?) but in his profile he did not list his e-mail address. So the next user to come to mind was Wingznuts and luckily I was able to send him a message and through him I was unbanned.
Doesn't it sound odd that the moderators won't know that after a week of unban requests that maybe *gasp* the user's ban has expired!?! I know, I know, it?s a ridiculous assumption but this is ludicrous. Do the moderators even check the inbox or not? I know at least 7 unban requests were sent in. Now it wouldn't bother me if there was no reply, but 24 hours later I could login to my account but as I stated earlier this was not the case.
I am not mad for being banned. I am not mad for probably pissing off a seller and maybe even getting on the bad traders list. What I am mad at is sending a plethora of e-mails with no response, resorting to contacting a 3rd party, request to them to ask a Moderator to unban me!
I realize I'm not a subscriber and this message is probably sucking up more bandwidth than it is worth...but how do you guys work? Are there still other users who are stuck banned and think the only way to get around is to just make a new username? I would expect more from this community just because it isn't composed of a bunch of prepubescent teens thinking solely about one thing.
