I'm currently cuddling a glock 17 with hollow points in it.

Stupid girlfriend just snapped her key off in the top lock of our place after snapping it off in the bottom one 4 weeks ago. The police have a "wanted" poster of some guys that beat someone silly in their house a couple blocks over.

I wanted to go out too. :|

At least you're reasonably well armed. It could be worse though...you could have been the dog owner in the akita vs. kitten story. Come to think of it, you could have been the kitten in the akita vs. kitten story. :Q

Have you considered fishing the remainder of the key out of the locks or going and getting new locks?
If you continue to cuddle that gun you may end up putting a hole in your foot. 🙁

Yeah, off to the depot tomorrow for some new locks.

No worries on the sidearm, I've been fully trained and certified, I'm not some nut, for the most part. 🙂

I did have someone try to break in like 8 years ago, I almost popped him but the cops got him. Turned out to be some dude on meth. Oh yeah, someone tried to come in like 6 months ago too. I'm not in a dangerous area at all, I just attract these type of things for some reason.

Oh, I've been shot at twice, pulled a knife on once too. Once was fatal.

Ok, I'm putting one in the chamber now that I remembered all that. 🙂

I keep one in there all the time. I live by myself so it's a pretty secure situation. But I like to know that in a crisis all I have to do is squeeze it without worrying about racking the slide.

So if i knocked on your door to borrow a cup of sugar, then door swung open cause the lock was broke, then bad things would happen?

Someone pulled a knife on you and it was fatal?

If it was fatal, how are you alive and posting?

Not for him. Must I explain everything?

Please explain that one to me. He made it sound like he suffered a fatal wound.
On the other hand, if he had killed someone, I would have thought he'd say more than just "Once was fatal"

Good policy. It's funny in the movies when they have a gun pointed at someone then they get mad or serious then rack it! Ha! You mean the chamber was empty??? Ack!!

Dude, if your neighborhood is that tough, you might want to find a different place to live? Also, if your GF has broken off two keys in your locks, you might want to find another GF?

Gravity

I hope you have that gun in a holster under your pillow. Unlike most handguns all of Glock's trigger pulls are single action. I believe the trigger pull is pretty light to at 5-6lbs.
You don't want to have a accidental discharge and shoot yourself.

Also instead of fighting fair with the Glock I would invest in a shotgun. If a burglar came to my house he's playing by my rules. I must rather shoot the guy 1 time with the shotgun and have 9 pellets hit him compared to 2-3 shots I would need with a 9mm. Most of the time if the burglar hears you rack the shotgun slide he knows he's screwed and most likely leave.

It'd have to be a sawed-off. I can't imaging trying to swing a full-length shotty around in a room, especially with a boogaler coming at me.
