First off I do think there should be goals, time lines etc. for the Iraqi government to make or else we start to redeploy our forces. However I don't feel this should be public information, I mean why on earth would you ever tell your enemy "If you hold out to this date we will leave the battlefield". Can someone hear tell me why you think it is logical for any plan to redeploy our troops to be public knowledge?
Also I don't see why the insurgent leadership doesn't order a halt in all offenses, after all if there where no bombings, shootings, etc for a period of 6 months then I'm sure the pressure to pull out troops out would grow even more and we would start to bring them home. Once they leave then the insurgent leadership could order the attacks to restart.
Lastly, since most people here hate the patriot act how has it affected your day-to-day life, or restricted your freedom?

How can you possibly win a conflict, ever, if you only use the bare minimum amount of force within a limited amount of time? If all it takes is a truck bomb here and there to deter the entire US military, we are indeed ******.
