One of my biggest mistakes in high school was to drop the only sport I was ever good in, swimming, because my parents wanted me to do band and I could not do both. So I had to quit swimming for band and I dropped band this year because I just hated it.
Well now I'm considering doing lacrosse for my school spring semester. It isn't UIL sanctioned so it doesn't take up a class period (good) and I get to hit poeple (really good). I have some friends that are on the lax team and want me to join it because I'm not lineman big but I'm not scrawny either.
Plus, god, chicks dig the bodies...
So my reasons for doing it
1) Chicks
2) Hit people
3) Looks very fun
I've been talking to my friends and reading up online a bit. They will show me basic things within the next couple of weeks but I need to reshape my workout routine to accomodate me preparing for lax. What do you all suggest? Right now I am lifing 4 or 5 days a week, 3 day arms, and the other one or two days are legs and cardio. Each session is about 50 minutes.
Do I need more leg work (mass building like squats) or should I focus on cardio? Being that this will be my first season I will probably be doing defense, espeically cuz I'm not as fast and a bit bigger than a lot of the other players.
Also, I looked at the rundown of equipment I'll need. Pads and helments are pretty standard, but what kind of stick should I go for? I was told by my friends that up front its ~$300, is this right?
Someone on here has to play lax
