It's 63 degrees in my apartment. I haven't turned my heat on yet this winter. I hate the way it smells when you turn the heat on at first.

Should I turn the heat on or tough it out for the rest of the season?
 
I'd turn it on, leave the apartment for a day or so, then come back and deal with it. Better it smell bad than be miserable all winter. If you have access to your heater, go wipe the dust off of it, or hire someone to come clean it out.

When I say I have no access I mean that I have no access to the unit. I can't dust it, clean it, or give it a kiss good night.

I turn the heater on by turning the switch on the heating side to 'on' but that doesn't happen down here that often. 🙂
