I just started working for Telespectrum, they are (were) contracted by Verizon to support their DSL (customer support, tech support, etc.). I was in training for customer service and today a rumor started.... By 4 p.m. eastern, 500 people were out of a job. I don't know why Verizon pulled the contract with Telespectrum but i think the multi-million dollar lawsuit against Verizon and the talk of embezzeled union dues had something to do with it. I just got my DSL connection and i didn't wait months like most people. I waited a few weeks and was up and running. Now i hate Verizon and i'm calling later this week to cancel my DSL so i don't have to pay (i'm still in my free month). I'm going back to dial up. I'm seriously considering not working ever again, after all the sh1t i've been through in my life it's just not worth it.
